Annealed glass
Ordinary, slow-cooled “standard” glass — the cheapest kind, and the base most other glass starts as before it's tempered or laminated.
What it means for you
Most useful as the contrast: annealed breaks into large sharp shards, which is exactly why code bans it in doors and other hazardous spots in favor of tempered or laminated. If a low or door-adjacent pane isn't safety glass, that's a red flag.

The default in non-safety locations; rarely named on a consumer quote.
