Cathedral (gable) roof

A peaked sunroom roof that rises to a ridge, giving a tall vaulted ceiling instead of a single flat slope.

What it means for you

The more dramatic, open-feeling option — higher ceilings and often a transom of glass up top. It costs more than a studio roof and adds height and structure, so it's as much an architectural choice as a comfort one.

Where you'll see it

The upgrade roof style on a sunroom quote.
