Cost lever

Prehung door

A complete door unit — slab already hung on hinges inside a new frame, with the sill and weatherstrip — that installs as one piece.

What it means for you

Usually the better replacement buy: you get a fresh frame, sill, and seals set square as a unit, instead of hoping an old frame is still true. It costs more than a slab and needs more install work (and a proper sill pan), but it seals and operates better.

Where you'll see it

The default on most entry-door replacement quotes.
