Steel door

An entry door with a steel skin over a foam core — the budget-strong option.

What it means for you

Strongest slab against a kick-in and the cheapest insulated door, which makes builder-grade steel a sensible value pick under a covered entry. The catch: it dents and won't pop back, and once the skin is scratched through it can rust — so it's happiest out of the weather.
