Transferable warranty
A warranty that survives a home sale, passing to the next owner instead of ending when you move.
What it means for you
A genuine resale asset — but usually with strings: written notice within a set window (often 30–90 days), sometimes a transfer fee, and coverage that may drop or prorate after the transfer. If resale value is part of your reasoning, confirm those terms, not just that it “transfers.”
Where you'll see it
A selling point in warranty brochures.
