Cost lever Sales-speak decoder

Vinyl siding

Extruded PVC panels that “float” on the wall — the budget-friendly, no-paint default siding.

What it means for you

A perfectly good choice installed right, and the lowest-cost, lowest-upkeep option. Its limits are honest ones: it fades under NC sun and can't be repainted to refresh, and it's the most install-sensitive material — nailed too tight it buckles, and without proper flashing it traps water.

Where you'll see it

The base tier on most siding quotes.

Don't be fooled

The biggest driver of a vinyl job's success is the install, not the panel grade — buckling and leaks are almost always workmanship, not the product.
