The manager-approval close

A closing routine where the rep steps away to “call the manager” and returns with a further, seemingly special discount to prompt a signature.

What it means for you

Usually staged pricing, not a favor won on your behalf — the “approved” number is often one the company always intended to reach. It's not a reason to distrust the person in your living room; it's a reason to judge the final price on its merits: per-window installed, itemized, and compared to other bids.

Where you'll see it

The final step of a long in-home presentation.

Don't be fooled

The “I got my manager to approve it” drop is part of the script — evaluate the last number on its own, the way you would any quote.
