The thin bars that divide a window's glass into smaller panes — or that look like they do. In old windows they held separate small panes; today they're usually decorative grilles.
What it means for you
On a modern window these are almost always cosmetic, not structural — so it's purely a look, and where the bars sit (inside the glass vs on the surface) is what changes cleaning and price.
